UK police escort mum off flight after her card is declined for £7

London: Ann-Marie Murray, 55, and her partner were escorted off a Ryanair flight from Tenerife to Bristol on March 28 after struggling to pay for £7 worth of onboard food. Their Barclays card failed to process the payment, and after offering to withdraw cash upon landing, flight crew refused.
They were accused of refusing to pay and became disruptive, despite other passengers defending them. Police met the plane on arrival, and they were removed. Later, they found their car’s front bumper smashed at the airport, but the parking company denied responsibility. Ryanair stated the couple ignored crew instructions and disrupted the flight.
A man was left in a ‘state of shock’ after receiving a ‘hefty’ bill for a round of drinks.
Ryan was in Dublin’s iconic The Temple Bar, and his tally reached €107.20 for a beer, a coke, two rums and six baby Guinness shots. The pint cost €11.45, while the shots were priced at €11.35.
The astounded customer shared his experience online, with some of his followers in shock. Others said he ‘should have known’.
Ryan compared it to retail prices, noting that a 70cl bottle of Malibu retails at merely €17.50 at Dunnes Stores – a stark contrast to the cost of just two bar shots. With the receipt timing stamped Friday, April 4 at 2:52 pm, the incident soon went viral on social media.
He expressed his disbelief at how the total sum surged for what he considered a relatively modest order by lamenting: “Knew it would be expensive but f**k me.”
Attempting to clarify the exorbitant sum, a message printed at the bottom of the receipt read: “All prices include live music and cover charge.”, reports the Irish Mirror.
Despite being lauded for its vibrant scene and traditional Irish music sessions, not to mention attracting a flood of tourists, the startling bill from Temple Bar has kick-started a discussion around the lofty costs associated with one of Dublin’s most visited spots, drawing criticism from many who said the pricing was “a rip-off”, “daylight robbery” and simply “unbelievable”.

Responses to the hefty price for six Baby Guinness shots at a pub came flooding in, with one individual commenting: “Nearly £70 for 6 Baby Guinness, I’d never check my bank app again!” Another shared their disbelief adding: “WTF! ! ? ! ! ? Where is that? 70 quid for 6 Guinness? Hope they sprinkled some gold on top.”
The cost of a pint of Heineken also raised eyebrows, prompting someone to post: “Pint of beer for over £11? Absolute joke.”
Echoing the sentiment, another person remarked: “Omg I would have walked out,” while someone else recounted their expensive encounter: “Dublin is brutal. Did 82 euros on 4 gin and tonics last year. Left my glass for 1 minute it was swept up by glass collector half full.”

A stunned customer compared it to their weekly expenses, saying: “More than my food shopping bill for week.”
Yet, not everyone saw the situation as negative. Some defended the establishment, citing its location and offerings. A defender of the pub pointed out: “To be fair, as stated at the bottom of the receipt, prices include live music.”
Another made a case for expectation versus reality by stating: “You go to one of the most popular tourist bars in the world, then act shocked when it’s expensive lmao.”
And reinforcing the idea of it being a known expense hotspot, someone concluded: “It’s a tourist trap bar what the f**k do you expect.”
