Danish firm launches training program for 100 Pakistani engineers in mining sector

Islamabad: A high-level delegation from FLSmidth, a Danish multinational and global leader in sustainable technologies for the mining and cement industries, called on Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the delegation announced the launch of a specialized training program in minerals and mining for 100 Pakistani engineers, aimed at building local capacity and advancing technological expertise in the sector.
Minister Ali Pervaiz welcomed the initiative and appreciated FLSmidth’s commitment to sustainable development.
He highlighted the government’s openness to adopting advanced technologies aligned with Pakistan’s vision for responsible and sustainable mining.
He further said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is particularly focused on the development of Balochistan, which can be accelerated through skills development and enhanced employability in key sectors.
The FLSmidth delegation also congratulated the minister on the successful hosting of the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025 (PMIF-25), and expressed their commitment to supporting Pakistan’s growth through long-term partnerships in both technological advancement and human resource development.
