Zhengzhou: Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone (ZAEZ) reported strong momentum in its cross-border e-commerce sector in the first quarter of 2025, according to official data released on April 9. Figures from the Henan E-Port Single Window platform showed that ZAEZ handled 58.31 million import and export orders during the quarter, achieving a total transaction volume of 6.85 billion yuan—representing year-on-year increases of 90.7% and 46.7%, respectively.

Export performance was particularly strong, with 47.05 million orders worth 4.72 billion yuan – representing year-on-year increases of 169.6 percent in volume and 101.5 percent in value, more than doubling on both fronts.

The strong performance highlights ZAEZ’s sustained momentum in developing its cross-border e-commerce sector over the past few years.

Leveraging its strategic role in the construction of the “Air Silk Road”, ZAEZ has continued to expand international cargo routes, improve customs clearance efficiency, and build professional service teams. Initiatives such as the “Silk Road Lecture Series” and the establishment of Henan Cross-Border E-Commerce Association within the zone have helped integrate premium resources across the province, enhance collaboration among enterprises, and promote coordinated development along the industrialchain.

“Since the beginning of this year, we have been committed to promoting high-quality development of the cross-border e-commerce sector,” said a staff member from the Investment Promotion Department of ZAEZ. “Our efforts have focused on cultivating skilled talent, attracting strategic investment, adopting innovative regulatory frameworks, and continuously optimizing the business environment – all of which have injected fresh vitality into the industry.”
