Bulgaria’s YTD power output falls 12%, consumption down 2.7%

Sofia: Domestic power consumption went down by 2.66% year-on-year to 18,860 GWh, ESO said in a weekly data release.

The country’s power trade surplus plunged by an annual 99.49% to 10.3 GWh in the review period.

The volume of renewable energy in the transmission network surged by 49.83% to 1,652 GWh, whereas the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system leapt by 35.76% to some 1,652 GWh.

In parallel, the output of hydropower plants grew by 2.44% on the year to nearly 2,011 GWh in the period under review.
