E-visas to be available for Chinese citizens from August 14: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi

Lahore: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced that e-visas for Chinese citizens would be available online starting August 14.

This move aims to streamline the visa process and provide greater convenience to Chinese nationals.

A delegation from the Chinese business community, led by Consul General Zhao Shiren, met with Interior Minister Naqvi in Lahore to discuss the security of Chinese citizens and staff working on various projects in Pakistan.

During the meeting, the Chinese delegation provided suggestions for enhancing the security measures for Chinese nationals. The minister assured the delegation that all feasible suggestions would be implemented, emphasizing that the security of Chinese citizens is a top priority for the government.

“Security of Chinese citizens is our top priority,” said Naqvi, further pledging to provide all possible facilities to Chinese nationals engaged in business activities in Pakistan.

He highlighted that the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the security plan are specifically designed to protect Chinese citizens, and that these SOPs will be reviewed to ensure their convenience.

Consul General Zhao Shiren expressed his optimism about the outcomes of the meeting, highlighting the strong bilateral relations between China and Pakistan. “China and Pakistan have excellent relations,” said Zhao, adding that he and Naqvi share a close friendship, which he believes will further strengthen cooperation between the two nations.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing hope for continued collaboration and mutual support.

The Chinese Consul General lauded the efforts of the Pakistani government in ensuring the safety and convenience of Chinese citizens, hoping that this meeting will yield fruitful results.
