UK Foreign Office warns holidaymakers going to Greece to sign up to vital alerts

London: Travelers to Greece have been warned about fire risks as the Foreign Office urged people to sign up to safety alerts.

Government officials on the gov.uk website warn that those visiting the renowned tourist destination during specific months might face more of a risk of their holidays being disrupted with wildfires.

It comes as wildfires have caused disruption in the country over the last month. The Foreign Office says: “There is a high risk of wildfires during the summer season from April to October. Wildfires are highly dangerous and unpredictable.

“The situation can change quickly.” In addition to the warning, they are stressing to travellers just how easy it can be to start a fire – and say you may not even realise it.
