Apostille Convention launched for streamlined document authentication

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar presided over the formal launching ceremony of the “Apostille Convention” at Foreign Ministry in Islamabad today.
With this launch, public document authentication for international use has been streamlined.
Speaking on the occasion, Ishaq Dar outlined the government’s priority of public facilitation and the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in provision of efficient public service delivery by simplifying the attestation and legalization of documents.
He urged that the officers of the Ministry to be more proactive in provision of efficient public service delivery.
With the formal launch of the Apostille certification, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Liaison Offices at Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Gujrat will receive documents for Apostille attestation though already notified five courier companies.
The Foreign Ministry also introduced an “Online Apostille Application System” today.
Under this system any individual can apply online for apostille by creating their profile and submitting documents directly through “Online Payment App” introduced by the Habib Bank Limited.
