Italy holiday packages in July +19,5%, triple EU average

Rome: The price of holiday packages in the European Union in July grew by 6.6% compared to last year but Italy recorded a real boom with a 19.5% growth, second only to France (+22,2%), Eurostat reported on Saturday.

Italy ranked at the top in terms of the growth of prices of national packages, which with a +29,8% exceeded the average of European increases – at 11.1%, without France’s figures, said the European statistics agency.

In terms of the price of international holiday packages, Italy instead recored a growth below the EU average with 3.7% compared to the EU average of 5.7%.
