BISP, SBP to collaborate for improving payment system

Islamabad: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and State Bank of Pakistan have joined hands to develop a simplified procedure for payments of stipends to the beneficiaries of the programme.

The modalities for this task were discussed by the Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) , Senator Rubina Khalid and Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Jameel Ahmed in a meeting held on Friday.

The meeting aimed to discuss the establishment of a new, improved, and transparent system for disbursement of stipends to deserving women under the BISP.

Secretary BISP, Amer Ali Ahmad, was also present during the meeting.

During the discussion, Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized the vision of the President and Prime Minister for a transparent and dignified payment process for the poor women benefiting from the BISP.

Governor SBP assured that a simplified procedure for the payment of stipends to deserving women will be developed in mutual consultation between the BISP and the State Bank of Pakistan.

This will ensure that the beneficiaries receive their payments in a transparent and respectful manner.
