Quetta: Members of Quetta’s civil society organized a pro-China rally, terming Chinas a trusted friend.

In response to the attack on Chinese citizens in Karachi, members of Quetta’s civil society viewed it as a direct threat to Pakistan’s growth and prosperity.

Held in front of the Quetta Press Club, the demonstration aimed to show solidarity with China, a nation they see as a crucial partner in the region’s development.

The participants, representing various segments of society, expressed their commitment to promoting peace, unity, and progress for both the country and the province of Balochistan.

They stressed that in challenging times like these, the youth must stand at the forefront as advocates for peace and development. The youth, described as the future of Pakistan, were encouraged to take a lead role in combating violence and terrorism, which have hindered the country’s growth for decades.

Highlighting Balochistan’s strategic location and its wealth of natural resources, the protestors noted how the province has attracted global attention.

They underscored China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s development, particularly through the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

This partnership, they emphasized, is not just about constructing roads, bridges, and ports, but about creating opportunities for education, employment, and modernization. Major projects like the Gwadar Port and a world-class airport are seen as pivotal to transforming Balochistan’s future.

The participants also condemned terrorism, stating that it has only brought suffering and stunted the growth of local communities.

They called for unity and rejected the forces that seek to divide the nation through violence. Instead, they encouraged the people to recognize the opportunities for modernization, education, and skills development, so that Balochistan can emerge as a prosperous and thriving region.

Chanting slogans like “Long live Balochistan,” “Long live Pakistan,” and “Long live Pakistan-China friendship,” the participants made it clear that they envision a future where the youth are equipped with modern skills, local communities are uplifted, and the region is free from the shadows of terrorism and violence.
