Int’l media delegation explores innovation in Zhongshan
Zhongshan: An international delegation of communication experts and foreign media representatives visited Zhongshan’s leading enterprises as part of the ’The World Comes to Zhongshan’ initiative.
The visit, organized by the CICG Academy of Translation and Interpretation, aimed to showcase the region’s advancements in key emerging industries.
During the tour, the delegation explored innovative sectors that are transforming the industrial landscape of Zhongshan. One of the highlights was a visit to Sinoscience Fullcryo (Zhongshan) Equipment Manufacturing Co Ltd, where participants learned about a large hydrogen liquefier with a capacity to produce five tons of liquefied hydrogen per day. The facility, developed in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, marks a significant achievement in the domestic production of hydrogen liquefiers, positioning the company as a global leader in the field. Zhongshan has prioritized hydrogen energy, fostering a robust industrial chain with leading enterprises and research institutes in low-temperature technologies.
The delegation also visited the Zhongshan Institute for Drug Discovery, where they were introduced to several groundbreaking drugs currently under development. With over 60 new drugs in the pipeline and seven undergoing clinical trials, the institute has become a hub for biopharmaceutical research and innovation. The institute is working towards creating a national-level platform that integrates research, technological breakthroughs, and industrial incubation, contributing to the high-quality development of the biopharmaceutical and health industries in the Greater Bay Area.
Another notable stop was Tongyu Communication Co Ltd, which played a crucial role in ensuring seamless 5G connectivity during the Hangzhou Asian Games. Known for its pioneering base station antennas, Tongyu Communication has expanded its global footprint with production bases in India and Thailand, and branches across six countries. Its products are widely used in over 60 countries and have been certified by global telecom giants such as Huawei, ZTE, and Ericsson.
At FCourier, a company specializing in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and artificial intelligence products, the delegation observed test flights of cutting-edge UAVs. The company’s electric vertical take-off and landing UAVs, known for their efficiency, are used in a range of sectors, including emergency firefighting, public safety, and energy inspection. FCourier’s success in exporting to multiple Middle Eastern countries reflects Zhongshan’s efforts to establish a distinctive low-altitude manufacturing industry, which is expected to contribute significantly to the city’s economy.
Zhongshan’s focus on innovation across sectors such as hydrogen energy, biopharmaceuticals, communication technology, and UAV manufacturing is positioning it as a key player in the global market. These initiatives are poised to drive economic growth and further solidify the city’s reputation as a hub for high-end manufacturing and cutting-edge technology.
