Portugal: House valuations rise 9.3%

Lisbon: The median value of bank appraisals for housing increased by 9.3% in 2024 compared to 2023, standing at 1,662 euros per square meter (m2), with all regions registering increases.

According to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the Autonomous Region of Madeira showed the most intense increase (14.8%) and Alentejo the smallest increase (5.5%).

By type of accommodation, last year, the median value of bank appraisals, carried out as part of applications for credit for the purchase of housing, increased by 9.3% for apartments and 8.6% for houses, to, respectively, 1,851 euros / m2 and 1,287 euros/m2 (1,693 euros/m2 and 1,185 euros/m2 in 2023).
