Mirza confirms Coronavirus cases
Quetta: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Services, Dr Zafar Mirza has confirmed the report of first two cases of coronavirus in the country.
This he said while addressing a news conference along with Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal in Quetta.
Zafar Mirza said that there is no need of panic as both the patients are in stable condition. He said that the government has taken effective protective measures well in time to stop the outbreak of virus throughout the country.
He said that the masses will be updated about the Corona virus on daily basis. He said that those citizens with having travel history of Iran and China and having coronavirus symptoms should contact to the medical experts.
He appealed that in case of any suspected coronavirus patient with having disease symptoms, information should be shared immediately with the health officials, doctors or direct to Health Ministry’s helpline number 1166.
Zafar Mirza also urged the media to play their positive role in providing information to the people regarding corona virus.
Replying to a query, Special Assistant said that the federal and provincial governments are on same page and implementing a unified policy to protect Pakistan from the virus.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Balochistan said that we are making all out efforts to protect our masses from the virus.
Meanwhile, in Karachi, three isolation wards have been established at Civil, Jinnah and Agha Khan hospitals to treat the patients infected with coronavirus.
Sindh Minister for Information, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said in an interview that Provincial Disaster Management Authority have also been asked to take steps in this regard.
He said that details of people traveled with a person reported positive for coronavirus have been sought so that they could also be screened. He stressed that federal and provincial governments work together to control the epidemic disease.
