Govt blind and deaf: PPP
Islamabad: The President Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh chapter, Nisar Khorro held a press conference with provincial ministers, Nasir Shah, Saeed Ghani and others in Islamabad on Friday.
He said that the government is blind and deaf. The present government has decided to kill Sindh economically and not giving Sindh’s due share in finances.
Khoro said that in the census, Sindh’s family size was kept at five and the rest of the provinces at seven. The census was approved despite Sindh’s dissenting note. Political assassination by the federation is now turned into an economic assassination. If 200 billion is being added to PSD, what is the share of Sindh in it, he asked. The annual share of Sindh’s ongoing schemes was 27 billion from the federation which was reduced to five billion.
He said that the PPP had planned to redesign a BOD which is a plan for the future to stop sea intrusion. This water stops the sea but the taunts that Musharraf used to give, Imran Khan is giving, that the water is wasted in the sea. He said that water is a matter of life and death for the people of Sindh and the PPP cannot remain silent on this issue.
He said that the federal government is not ready to give its share for the K4 project. The Sindh Chief Minister has written a dissenting note to the Federal Government against the distribution of PSDP. It is unfortunate that the federal government’s representatives from Sindh are silent over these issues of Sindh. The Pakistan Steel Mills has been closed for three years and now there is a program by this government to sell it for peanuts.
Khoro said that officers in the FIA from Sindh are being expelled from their jobs. He said that those who started the fire during the Bahria Town protest will be arrested and punished. The MQM has left its leader but has not given up his mentality and ideology. Sindh is the mother of Pakistan and we still stand on the slogan of Pakistan Khappay. There is no difference between those who set fire to the gate of Bahria Town and chanted slogans against Pakistan and the leader of MQM. Sindh government is reviewing Bahria Town cases and those who are not involved will be released. He said that he does not think the leaders protesting against Bahria Town had ordered people to set on fire the properties in Bahria Town. He said that the Sindh government has also given land to DHA. He said that 95 housing societies are being built between Karachi and Hyderabad.
