CPEC will multiply economic activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhaw: Speaker National Assembly

Swabi: Speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will multiply the economic activities in the Khyber Pakhtunkhaw province.

Addressing a public gathering here in Marghuz area, Qaiser predicted that the completion of projects initiated under the CPEC will usher a new era of prosperity in the province.

“This (the CPEC) will increase economic activities and people will get employment opportunities. The government has already granted unprecedented funds to Swabi,” he added.

Qaiser underscored that the CPEC had started giving results and the people were getting jobs across the Khyber Pakhtunkhaw province.

The Speaker mentioned that the federal government was giving importance to Swabi. “I remained Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtukhaw Assembly for five years and for the last three years, I am Speaker of the National Assembly. The government has given important posts twice to a person from Swabi,” he contended.

He stressed that the journey of the development of Pakhtuns had begun and now they were not behind anyone in any sector.

The Speaker emphasized that Pakistan was playing crucial role in the establishment of durable peace in Afghanistan and urged the world community to promote cooperation with it in all sectors including trade.

He underlined that the restoration of peace in Afghanistan will usher progress and development in the whole region.

“The businessmen will get access to the market of Central Asian States and help promote business activities,” he explained.

The Speaker stated that a new era of progress and development had begun in the country and now Pakistan will give a changed look. He claimed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan the country has been put on track of development.

Khyber Pakhtunkhaw Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, Federal Minister Murad Saeed, Provincial Ministers Shahram Khan Tarakai and Taimur Saleem Jhagra and Khyber Palhtunkhaw Provincial Assembly Member Aqib Ullah were also present on the occasion.
