Pakistanis can now travel to UK with Chinese Covid jabs
Islamabad: Pakistanis who have received doses of Chinese COVID-19 vaccines can now travel to the United Kingdom, the British envoy in Pakistan announced.
The announcement was made by the UK’s High Commissioner to Pakistan Christian Turner from his official Twitter handle.
The envoy, in his tweet, said that there was a good news for travelers from Pakistan as the UK had added Sinonvac, Sinopharm and Covaxin to the fully vaccinated list for inward travel Rules from November 22.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar took a jibe at the United Kingdom for not accepting Chinese vaccines approved by the World Health Organsiation (WHO).
Taking to his official Twitter handle, the minister wrote that while the UK was accepting fake certificates from the western countries, it was not accepting the widely recognised Chinese vaccines.
Chinese vaccines are the most popular in Pakistan as China was the first to provide the doses to Pakistan to fight the pandemic.
Previously, Pakistan made successful efforts to convince Saudi Arabia to accept the Chinese vaccines as a lot of Pakistanis were waiting to fly back to work in Saudi Arabia.
Chinese vaccines have been proven to be among the best in the world and are available around the world. China has also donated millions of vaccines to the developing countries including Pakistan.
