Planning visit to China in few days: PM Imran Khan

Islamabad: Prime Minister announced on Monday that he was planning to visit Iron Brother China in the coming days.

Addressing the launching ceremony of the Pakistan-China Business Investment Forum (PCBIF) here, PM Khan said that he was “scheduled to visit China next week,” adding “however, the plan is tentative at the moment due to the Covid-19 situation.” The PM indicated that if the trip happens, it would also focus on urban planning.

Pakistan and China regular exchange visits at the highest level as part of their historic friendship. The Foreign Ministers of the two countries are always in contact over the bilateral and the international matters.

Earlier in the day, the inauguration ceremony of Pakistan-China Business and Investment Forum, PCBIF, was held at the Prime Minister’s House, Islamabad and was witness by Prime Minister Imran Khan, himself as well as Ambassador of China to Pakistan Nong Rong. Attended by the representatives of more than 100 Chinese and Pakistani enterprises, the event clearly demonstrated the potential of PCBIF for “fostering Pak-China B2B endeavors.”

Chairman Board of Investment (BOI) Azfar Ahsan and Chairman All Pakistan Chinese Enterprises Yang Jianduo, both expressed their confidence in the capability of PCBIF as a platform that will further facilitate the collaborative investment ventures of the business communities from both the countries.

It was remarked that the inception of PCBIF indeed validates the strength of the diplomatic and economic ties between the People’s Republic of China and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It is a living proof of the ironclad bond that has been maintained for the past 70 years through all changes in national and international scenarios.

The ceremony was also marked by the signing of the PCBIF constitution by Secretary BOI, Fareena Mazhar and Chairman APCEA Yang Jianduo as well as the unveiling of PCBIF’s logo by PM Imran Khan.
