FM lauds Huawei’s initiative to launch technical training courses for government officers in Pakistan

Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has appreciated Huawei Technology’s initiative to launch technical training courses for government officers in Pakistan.

In a meeting with a delegation of Huawei, led by Shunli Wang, Vice President (Middle East Region), mentioned that the use of digital technology had multiplied during the Corona epidemic due to social barriers.

He maintained that the use of digital technology was essential for efficient delivery of services in public sector.

“We have taken effective steps for digitization in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs keeping in view the present requirements,” he added.

Today, he remarked, “114 Pakistani embassies around the world, thanks to digital technology, are ensuring better services to Pakistanis abroad.”

He pointed out that the portals created to resolve the problems and difficulties faced by Pakistanis abroad are the result of the promotion of this digitization.

The two sides discussed issues of mutual interest including promotion of digital technology, said a foreign ministry statement released here in the Urdu language.

The Huawei Vice President apprised the Foreign Minister of the details of ongoing measures under social responsibility in Pakistan

Shunli Wang thanked Foreign Minister Qureshi for the encouragement. The delegation included Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Huawei Pakistan, Mark Meng and Director Public Relations Huawei Technologies Ahmad Jahanzeb Malik.
