IHC rejects plea against diplomatic passport for Nawaz Sharif
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) rejected a plea seeking restraint of diplomatic passport for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif.
The court declared the petition inadmissible and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the petition for wasting court time.
The court maintained that the petitioner failed to produce any government order for the issuance of a diplomatic passport.
As per details, the court said that it cannot decide on the matter without any evidence.
Earlier on April 15, a petitioner named Naeem Haider filed a petition in the IHC against issuing the diplomatic passport.
He maintained in the petition that Nawaz Sharif was an absconding convict who must be arrested upon his arrival.
Newly elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had directed the interior ministry to issue a diplomatic passport to the PML-N supremo and former finance minister Ishaq Dar.
