Chinese Ambassador discusses Pakistan-China relations during 2022 with Pakistani FM

Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan Nong Rong has held a meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari where the two sides reviewed achievements of Pakistan-China relations during the past year and agreed to maintain momentum in 2023.

The two sides agreed to maintain the pace of bilateral ties through the high-quality development of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and stronger people-to-people contacts, FM Bilawal wrote on Twitter.

They also agreed to accelerate the post-flood reconstruction to build back better.

Earlier, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong said China desired to enhance exchange of personnel with Pakistan at various levels under renewed COVID policy.

Ambassador Nong Rong maintained the new COVID policy will expedite the implementation of the important consensus reached between leadership of the two countries during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China.

The Ambassador said the Joint Working Group (JWG) meetings under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework and the annual Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting will be expected conducted face-to-face.

He mentioned that the policy welcomes more Pakistani students to China for further study and more delegations and business groups will pay on-site visit to Pakistan naturally.

Nong Rong said the facilitation of investments between China and Pakistan will be resulted as our bilateral cooperation, including the CPEC projects would enjoy more robust energy that will bring more benefits to the two peoples.
