Bilawal to meet Nawaz Sharif in jail on Monday

Lahore: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will meet former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore on Monday.

The Punjab home department earlier approved the PPP leader’s request for the meeting.

PPP Central Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira, Senator Mustafa Khokhar and Bilawal’s political secretary Jameel Soomro will accompany Bilawal.

The PPP chief and his father Asif Ali Zardari have already expressed their reservations regarding Nawaz Sharif’s health and the treatment he is getting in jail.

Khurshid Shah, a senior leader of the PPP, had said that the government will be held accountable for Nawaz’s deteriorating health.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that her father has refused to get treatment for his medical condition. She also demanded medical care for her father inside the jail.

The former premier is serving a seven-year jail term in the Al-Azizia case. He says he is suffering from heart ailments. His appeal to have his sentence suspended is being heard in the Supreme Court.
