Italy’s cement output declines 10% in November
Rome: Italian cement production fell by 10 per cent YoY in November 2022, according to the country’s construction chamber, Federbeton.
When compared with the 2015 base index production the value declined from 102 in October to 85 in November.
Cement prices in November 2022 increased MoM to 212 when compared with the base year of 2015 (=100). Federbeton also reported a 69 per cent increase when compared with November 2022.
Grey cement imports in October were up by 34 per cent when compared with October 2021 with a total CIF value of EUR13.962m. This represents a CIF value of EUR82/t, slipping from EUR83/t in September. In the first 10 months of 2022, grey cement import volumes advanced 17 per cent YoY.
Italian cement producers exported 117,254t of grey cement in October 2022, down 11 per cent YoY. Export shipments had a total FOB value of EUR10.79m, with the FOB value per tonne of cement edging up to EUR92/t in October 2022 when compared with the previous month. In terms of exports in the 10M22, volumes fell by 12 per cent YoY.
