Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has extended his warm congratulations to Haider Ali, a Pakistani para-olympian, for his exceptional achievement in securing the gold medal in the Discus throw event at the 4th Para-Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China.

Ali achieved this by claiming the gold medal in the discus throw competition during the ongoing Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China, on Thursday. In his fourth attempt, Haider delivered an outstanding throw of 51.23 meters, marking his victory.
Japan’s Yamato Shimbo earned the silver medal with a throw of 49.70 meters, while China’s Zhang Xuelong secured the bronze medal with a throw of 48.26 meters.
Haider Ali’s performance exceeded the minimum entry requirement for the Paralympics, which stands at 39 meters, with all six of his throws surpassing this mark.
This achievement is not Haider Ali’s first taste of success. He previously won a gold medal in the discus throw event at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games with a remarkable throw of 55.26 meters, making him the first Pakistani to accomplish this feat.
This is a significant milestone for Haider Ali and a source of immense pride for Pakistan, showcasing his dedication and talent in the world of para-olympic sports.
