Quetta: Caretaker Provincial Minister for Health Dr Ameer Jogezai has said that Gwadar and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) were the only projects with the potential to rescue Pakistan from its ongoing economic challenges.

Speaking at a webinar organized by the Balochistan Think Tank Network (BTTN) here, Jogezai, highlighted the significance of Gwadar, CPEC, the ongoing initiatives and achievements of the caretaker government.

He urged for more commitment towards Gwadar as it was important for both Balochistan and Pakistan.

He noted a decline in the collective wisdom and collaborative efforts of the Pakistani nation for the greater prosperity of the country.

Colonel Maqbool Afridi (retd), in his speech, underscored the immense potential of Gwadar from various perspectives, stating that it can serve as a hub for diverse business activities.

He stressed the necessity of adopting a long-term, globally-aligned economic policy rather than pursuing an isolated approach to fully harness the untapped potential of Gwadar and CPEC.

Colonel Afridi presented recommendations to address the existing challenges associated with CPEC. These recommendations included the establishment of a governing board or authority overseeing the projects and ensuring that the Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan (2017-2050) is developed in strict adherence to the established rules and regulations.

In his remarks, Brigadier Agha Ahmad Gul (retd), expressed his gratitude to Health Minister Dr Ameer Jogezai and Colonel Maqbool Afridi (Retired) for their participation and valuable insights.

He also extended his appreciation to CISSS and RFI for their involvement in the event.
