Islamabad: Pakistani Caretaker Federal Minister for Commerce Dr. Gohar Ejaz and his distinguished delegation’s just concluded visit to China, covering three significant cities, was declared as highly successful by the Pakistani government.

According to an official statement, this extensive visit served as a platform for nurturing collaborations across various sectors.

The delegation actively participated in the China-Pakistan Textile Summit, a crucial event bringing together industry leaders from both nations. Through insightful discussions, the delegates aimed to strengthen bilateral trade relations and explore avenues for increased cooperation.

A notable achievement during the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the China Chambers of Commerce and the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA). This agreement signifies a commitment to enhancing collaboration and promoting mutual interests in the textile sector.

Comprising businessmen, the delegation seized the opportunity to engage in productive Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings with their Chinese counterparts, with a focus on augmenting textile imports and exports to strengthen economic ties.

Beyond textiles, the delegates delved into discussions on potential joint ventures across various sectors, showcasing a collaborative spirit and a shared vision for business growth between Pakistan and China.

Emphasizing joint efforts, the delegates stressed the need for collaboration among business individuals from both nations, including the application of advanced Chinese technology to enhance value addition in Pakistan’s industries.

A key aspect of the visit was exploring the transfer of Chinese technology to Pakistan’s Special Economic Zones (SEZs), with detailed discussions on how this transfer could drive innovation and economic development in Pakistan.

Highlighting the positive impact of increased Chinese investments on Pakistan’s GDP growth, the delegation emphasized the strategic opportunity for Chinese exporters to access markets in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Africa through Pakistan.
