Islamabad: Italy’s Ambassador to Pakistan Andreas Ferrarese, during his successful four-year term in Pakistan, ensured the establishment of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) office in Pakistan – a noteworthy development.
This represented a significant step in the 75-year diplomatic relations between Italy and Pakistan.
In his comments, Ambassador Andreas Ferrarese underscored this milestone, highlighting the agency’s role in fostering international business development for Italian companies and encouraging foreign investments in Italy.
The ITA, with its modern organizational structure and a global network of overseas offices, is dedicated to supporting small and medium-sized Italian businesses.
It provided them with a range of services, including information, assistance, consulting, promotion, and training. The agency employs state-of-the-art promotion and communication tools to showcase the excellence of ‘Made in Italy’ on a global scale.
Ambassador Ferrarese emphasized the historical context, tracing the origins of ITA back to its predecessor, the Italian Institute of Commerce.
He described how ITA has evolved over the past year, becoming an integral part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and actively engaging in trade diplomacy.
The Ambassador mentioned that ITA plays a pivotal role in supporting trade diplomacy by offering technical assistance and aiding the embassy in crafting effective trade strategies.
