China to work with elected government after February elections: Chinese Ambassador
Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zedong has said that the Chinese government will collaborate with the next elected government of Pakistan after the general elections on February 8.
In an important meeting here at the Chinese embassy with Leader of the House in the Senate, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the envoy spoke about the close ties between the Iron Brothers.
Ambassador Jiang Zedong warmly welcomed Senator Ishaq Dar’s sentiments of goodwill and friendship toward the Chinese people and government.
The Chinese ambassador reaffirmed China’s commitment to closely collaborate with the next elected government of Pakistan post the general elections in February 2024.
Highlighting the objective of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the Chinese ambassador emphasized that its purpose is to foster joint development in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Ishaq Dar emphasized the pivotal role of the Pakistan-China friendship, characterizing it as vital for regional peace and development.
He stressed that the Sino-Pak friendship has evolved into a comprehensive strategic partnership, equally crucial for fostering prosperity, well-being, peace, and stability across the entire region.
Senator Dar expressed gratitude for China’s unwavering support to Pakistan during challenging times, crises, and natural calamities.
He underscored the vast potential for enhanced collaboration between the two nations in various domains such as agriculture, trade, investment, IT, and finance.
Both sides affirmed the Pakistan-China iron brotherhood as the cornerstone of peace, stability, and shared prosperity, not only in the region but beyond.
They engaged in detailed discussions about fortifying the existing economic and strategic cooperation, along with exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan.
