Chinese Consul General discusses avenues for promoting bilateral trade with FPCCI leaders
Lahore: Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren engaged in discussions at the Regional Office of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) to explore avenues for promoting bilateral trade.
During the meeting with FPCCI leaders, Zhao Shiren underscored the potential for collaboration between the private sectors of Pakistan and China to elevate trade relations to new heights.
Emphasizing the importance of strong ties between Chinese and Pakistani counterparts, Zhao highlighted the role of the Chinese Consulate as a bridge between the two nations.
He stressed the need for investments in Pakistan and Punjab, focusing on long-term partnerships between major Chinese companies and local entities.
On this occasion, FPCCI Regional Chairman Zaki Aijaz and Vice President Zain Iftikhar Chaudhry echoed Zhao Shiren’s sentiments, highlighting Pakistan’s attractiveness as an investment destination.
They emphasized the benefits offered to foreign investors, particularly through Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Punjab, which provide special incentives for business growth.
Zaki Aijaz spoke about the evolving focus of CPEC, particularly in its Phase-II, which aims to promote joint ventures, industrial cooperation, agricultural development, trade facilitation, and social welfare.
He underscored the shift towards business-to-business cooperation is seen as pivotal in fostering private companies and promoting technology transfer from China.
