Cheapest holiday in Italy
Tkme: The dream island of Sardinia, with its white sand beaches and incredible food, has been named the best value destination for a package holiday this Easter.
Offering the lowest priced package deals over the Easter school holidays, a trip to the gorgeous Italian isle is 24 per cent cheaper in 2019 compared with last year, according to TravelSupermarket.
The comparison website found that a family of four looking to soak up the beach vibes and amazing sunshine (temperatures reach up to 20oC in April) can do so for as little as £142 per person when travelling from 6 to 13 April.
It also found that the uncertainty around Brexit appears to be cutting the price of overseas packages across many destinations in Europe. For instance, Malta, Spain’s Costa Brava, Majorca and the Algarve have also seen a huge drop in prices.
Couples or families looking to escape to Sardinia this April can take advantage of affordable package holidays to beautiful locations including Olbia, Porto Cervo and Alghero.
On the Beach has a week-long self-catering package for two adults staying in the beach resort of Palau from £114 per person at the end of April, a stay at a hotel overlooking the islands of Tavolara and Molara from £203 per person, or a week in Pittulongu on a bed and breakfast basis from £321 per person.
EasyJet Holidays is also offering affordable April packages, such as a stay at the four-star DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Olbia from £259 per person, and seven night at a hotel with character that was originally built by monks from £311 per person.
LoveHolidays has packages to San Teodoro from £87 per person, Golfo Aranci from £107 per person and Alghero from £140 per person.
Meanwhile, if you’re looking for a deal from Expedia, you’ll find holidays later in spring for May from £245 per person.
